A Collection of Antique Silver, Sterling Silver and White Metal Items to include Souvenir Spoons, Jewellery and a Fruit Knife
Description
A varied collection of all silver, sterling silver, and white metal decorative items, presented in a fitted red leatherette case and accompanied by a pair of glove stretchers. The lot includes a folding fruit knife with carved mother-of-pearl handle scales and a sterling silver blade featuring engraved floral decoration. The blade is struck with Sheffield hallmarks including a crown, lion passant, and the date letter q, alongside the maker’s mark A & D for Atkins Brothers.
An enamel set comprises a small spoon and a matching manicure tool, both featuring blue guilloche enamel terminals decorated with hand-painted pink rose motifs. A set of six small decorative spoons features twisted stems with cast terminals: three depicting palm trees and three depicting stylized figures or masks.
The collection further includes a small plain silver spoon, a circular white metal pill box with an engraved hinged lid, and a variety of jewellery and charms. These pieces consist of a translucent blue/white cabochon pendant, a double-horseshoe charm, a cross, a Lourdes souvenir charm, and a golf medal inscribed M. G. C. PAST CAPTAIN with crossed clubs. The glove stretchers are finished with ebonized handles and a white metal shield-shaped cartouche. A small paper tag in the box is hand-inscribed 6182 SILVER.
