A Mid-19th Century Bradbury Anderson and Bettany Vintage Pattern Relief-Molded Stoneware Jug
Description
A Victorian relief-molded stoneware jug in the Vintage pattern, attributed to Bradbury, Anderson and Bettany of Longton, Staffordshire, circa 1850. The bulbous body is decorated in high relief with a classical motif featuring a putto surrounded by an abundance of grapevines and fruit clusters. The background consists of a textured, stippled ground. Finished in a pale powder blue, the jug features a shaped, flared pouring lip and an ornate, scrolled handle with foliate terminals. There are no factory marks visible on the base. A white adhesive label with the handwritten characters 6182 is present on the body.
