Description
An assortment of silver-plated (EPNS) flatware and cutlery, primarily of Sheffield origin and dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection includes a group of dessert or fish knives and forks featuring mother-of-pearl handles and decoratively engraved blades and tines. Also included is a pair of carving implements with cream-coloured handles, likely bone or celluloid. The remainder of the lot consists of miscellaneous silver-plated spoons and forks in various traditional patterns, including Fiddle, Old English, and Shell. Stamped marks visible on several pieces include the letters EP and SHEFFIELD, with some forks displaying small recessed rectangular punches on the reverse of the necks. One knife in the collection features a contrasting black handle.
