A Collection of Majolica-Style Leaf Plates and Assorted Decorative Ceramics and Collectibles
Description
This lot comprises an assortment of decorative ceramics and miscellaneous collectibles. The primary items consist of a collection of green-glazed earthenware plates in two sizes, featuring relief-moulded decoration of vine leaves and grape clusters. These plates are in the style of 19th-century Wedgwood majolica production. The lot includes a large circular cream-coloured dish or tray featuring transfer-printed botanical illustrations with identifying text such as Corn-Poppy, Mayweed, Hare-bell, Ripe Summer Corn, and King-cups. Additional ceramic items include a blue stoneware heart-shaped dish with white sprigged classical decoration in the style of Wedgwood jasperware, a small circular bowl with a pale blue-green rim and central floral spray, and a square white tile with a transfer-printed floral design. The collection also features several small lidded boxes, including an egg-shaped floral box and a circular box with a figural scene. Miscellaneous items include a rectangular metal hip flask with a red leather-effect wrap, a small yellow tray with floral decoration, a circular tin with a bird illustration, and a framed miniature depicting classical figures on a blue ground. No factory marks are visible on the visible surfaces of the items.
