A Collection of Decorative Ceramic Display and Wall Plates
Description
A collection of decorative ceramic plates comprising various materials including fine bone china, porcelain, and relief-moulded earthenware. The assortment includes a plate featuring a central circular vignette of a yellow canary against a brown ground, bordered by light blue scrollwork on a white ground. Another plate is decorated in the style of the Royal Albert Old Country Roses pattern, featuring a border of red, pink, and yellow roses with a heavily gilded and sponged rim. A relief-moulded commemorative plate in earthy brown tones depicts a cityscape with a prominent clock tower and is incised with the word DUBROVNIK at the base. The collection further includes various display plates with transfer-printed pictorial scenes of landscapes, cottages, and wildlife, some with gilded or decorative borders. One plate bears a small white sticker with the handwritten digits 9, 6, 2, 2. One plate is fitted with a metal spring-loaded wall hanger.
