A Group of Copeland Spode Buttercup and Hampton Court Palace Pattern Tea Wares
Description
This lot comprises a group of ceramic tea wares from two distinct services. The first is a partial bone china service in the Buttercup pattern by Copeland Spode, featuring yellow floral sprays and green foliage on a white ground with fluted or ribbed bodies. The pieces bear a blue underglaze crown mark to the base. The second is a partial earthenware service decorated with brown transfer-printed landscape scenes. The cups are inscribed with Hampton Court Palace, London around the outer foot rim. The decoration includes a stately home central motif and decorative scroll and foliate borders to the rims. The bases of the brown transferware pieces feature a blue underglaze manufacturer mark.
The largest plate measures approximately 25 cm in diameter.
