Description
A sterling silver two-handled challenge trophy cup by James Deakin and Sons. The bowl is engraved with the words CHALLENGE TROPHY and COTTAGE SHOW and features ornate scroll handles with foliate and mask terminals. The body bears Sheffield hallmarks including the maker mark D&S, the crown, the lion passant, and the date letter c for 1920. The cup is mounted on a multi-tiered circular base adorned with numerous silver-toned winner shields recording recipients from 1977 to 2006.
