A Pair of George III Style Sterling Silver Sauce Boats, London, 1910
Description
A pair of sterling silver sauce boats of helmet form, designed in the George III style. Each vessel features a polished body with a reeded rim and a double-scroll reeded handle, mounted upon an oval pedestal foot. The items bear a full set of British hallmarks struck to the side of the body near the rim. These marks include the maker mark WB for William Bruford and Son Ltd, the lion passant indicating .925 sterling silver, the leopard head for the London Assay Office, and the lowercase Roman letter p for the year 1910.
