Six Aces of the Air Commemorative Pocket Watches and a Franklin Mint US Model 1860 Style Cavalry Sabre
Description
This lot comprises six commemorative pocket watches and one reproduction military-style sabre. The watch collection includes five pieces from the Aces of the Air series, each housed in a black presentation box featuring the series logo and a stylised propeller-driven aircraft silhouette. These five watches feature pictorial covers depicting various historical combat aircraft, appearing to represent fighters from the Second World War era. The sixth watch is housed in a blue box with a red lining and features an ornate, embossed silver-tone cover. The sabre is a modern commemorative reproduction of a US Model 1860 Light Cavalry Sabre, attributed to the Franklin Mint 2000 Years of the Sword collection. The polished steel blade is curved and single-edged with a prominent fuller. The ricasso is stamped with the characters US over 1860. The hilt features a brass-finished three-branch guard and a ribbed grip with wire binding.
