A Vintage Jaguar Chrome-Plated Leaping Cat Bonnet Mascot by Wilmot Breeden
Description
A mid-20th-century chrome-plated automotive mascot in the form of a leaping jaguar, manufactured by Wilmot Breeden for Jaguar Cars Ltd. This leaper design depicts the animal in full stretch and is constructed from cast metal with a chrome finish. The underside of the body is cast with the part number 7/100916 and the manufacturer mark W.B.B.B. The mascot is designed for mounting via two integral threaded studs located at the rear base. A temporary paper adhesive label with the handwritten characters 9628 D is present on the left side of the body. This part is typically associated with Jaguar saloon models including the Mark VII, VIII, and IX, as well as the Mark 1 and Mark 2 series.
