Description

An assortment of British military and naval items, primarily dating from the early to mid-20th century. The collection features a First World War era Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps (QMAAC) shoulder title, constructed from red wool felt with white embroidered lettering transcribing as Q.M.A.A.C. Also included is a brass Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) cap or collar badge featuring the rod of Asclepius within a laurel wreath, surmounted by a King’s crown. The lot contains a significant quantity of brass Royal Navy tunic buttons in various sizes, each embossed with the standard motif of a crowned fouled anchor. A nickel-plated brass general service whistle is present, bearing the maker’s mark Nesthill for Ernest H. Hill Ltd., Birmingham. Further items include a two-medal ribbon bar for the 1939-1945 Star and the France and Germany Star, alongside several brass and gilt metal crown rank insignia representing both King’s and Queen’s crown patterns. Cloth insignia comprise a red felt patch with a gold-toned embroidered crown and a small red square badge with a white embroidered W. The collection is completed by a rectangular white-metal case, a circular white-metal commemorative badge, and a novelty miniature Guinness bottle pin.
