UK 1977-1985 Commemorative Crown and Medal Collection, Cupro-Nickel
Description
A collection of United Kingdom commemorative crowns and related numismatic memorabilia. The lot includes multiple 25 pence crowns issued for the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the 1981 Royal Wedding of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer, and the 80th and 85th birthdays of H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 1980 and 1985. Many items are held in original bank-issued or retail packaging, including card mounts from National Westminster Bank and Yorkshire Bank. The collection also features a cased commemorative medal titled The Battle of the Somme in a black presentation box, an officially licensed Royal Air Force Spitfire pin badge, and a 1918-2018 centenary pin. One loose white metal coin is present featuring the inscription REPUBLIQUE on the obverse. The primary composition of the crowns is cupro-nickel.
