Description

This lot consists of two silver spoons in the Fiddle pattern, both featuring a matching engraved scrolling monogram M to the handle terminal. The first item is a sterling silver dessert spoon, hallmarked for London, 1899, with the maker’s mark WC for William Comyns and Sons. The hallmarks include the Lion Passant standard mark and the uncrowned Leopard’s Head assay mark. The second item is a silver-plated teaspoon stamped to the reverse with the initials S.D and S for Smith, Dooley and Smith, accompanied by three pseudo-hallmark symbols. Both pieces demonstrate the traditional Fiddle pattern style common to the late 19th century.
Weight: 42g (sterling silver spoon).
