A Set of George V Sterling Silver Teaspoons by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd Birmingham 1919
Description
A set of sterling silver teaspoons manufactured by Barker Brothers Silver Ltd. Each spoon features a handle decorated with a notched border and terminates in a stylized shell motif. The set is housed in its original fitted presentation case with a deep blue velvet and cream satin interior. The interior lid is printed with the retailer mark for W. Greenwood and Sons, 92 and 93 Briggate, Leeds and 5 New Street, Huddersfield. The reverse of each handle bears a full set of English hallmarks including the maker mark B V for Barker Brothers Silver Ltd, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter u for 1919.
