Description

A collection of silver and silver-plated items comprising various souvenir spoons, decorative flatware, and a napkin ring. The group includes two commemorative spoons for the 1924 British Empire Exhibition featuring enamel finials with the exhibition crest and date. Continental souvenir spoons are present, including an example with a green enamel shield for St. Wolfgang and another with blue enamel decoration. The collection also features a spoon with a cast figural finial in the apostle style, several spoons with twisted stems and scrolling finials, a small fork with a twisted handle, and a chased napkin ring with scrolled decoration. One large spoon is struck with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and a gothic lowercase date letter b, corresponding to 1926. Other pieces bear various marks on the reverse of the stems, including enamel inscriptions and maker’s marks.
