Description
An assortment of decorative ceramics and metalware in various styles. The collection includes a tall tapered cylindrical earthenware jug featuring hand-painted floral sprays of pink and purple flowers on a cream ground with a peach-toned gradient rim and C-scroll handle. Also present is a small earthenware basket with a moulded wicker-pattern base and hand-painted floral motifs, and a white glazed rectangular jardiniere featuring pierced vertical slats and moulded decoration of floral garlands with pink ribbons. The lot contains a bulbous ribbed ceramic perfume atomizer base with applied pink roses and a metal collar, a twin-handled ovoid vase with gilded handles and hand-painted roses, and a small pale-green lidded pot with a transfer-printed landscape cartouche. Additional items include a brass pedestal bowl, a group of earthenware plates with brown and red transfer-printed scenes of classical architectural ruins, and a white glazed mug with the transfer-printed text Arabia-Coffee. A small adhesive sticker with the handwritten characters 9631/8 is attached to the rectangular planter. The items are in the styles of late 19th and early 20th-century English and European decorative ceramics.
