A Collection of Vintage Items Including an Elliott Mantel Clock and Decorative Boxes
Description
A collection of vintage decorative items and a timepiece. The group includes a mantel clock by Elliott, housed in a rectangular wooden case. The square brass-toned dial features Roman numerals and is marked for the retailer Perkin & Sons Ltd Wakefield and the maker An Elliott Clock. The clock is supported by stepped metal feet. Also included is a wooden tea caddy of rectangular form with decorative banding and a brass lock plate, consistent with 19th or early 20th-century English mahogany examples. The interior features two compartments with lids and a red fabric lining to the underside of the main lid. The collection further comprises several decorative boxes. One box features an embossed lid and sides with floral and scrolling motifs. Another smaller box displays decorative borders and rectangular panels. A larger, plain rectangular wooden box completes the group.
