A late 20th-century Art Nouveau style twin-light figural table lamp after Auguste Moreau
Description
An Art Nouveau style decorative table lamp featuring a twin-light configuration, produced in the late 20th century. The sculptural base is cast from patinated metal with a dark brown finish, depicting two youthful figures in classical-style drapery seated upon a rocky outcrop, in the manner of Auguste Moreau. The female figure is shown holding a basket of fruit, including bunches of grapes. Two light fittings are mounted on stylised foliate stems emerging from behind the figures, each fitted with a trumpet-form glass lily shade. The shades feature a graduated colour transition from emerald green at the ruffled rims to amber at the base. The lamp is fitted with a modern grey plastic-coated cable and a standard UK three-pin plug. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the casting.
