A.H. McIntosh and Co Ltd Dunvegan Teak Sideboard by Tom Robertson
Description
A mid-century modern teak sideboard, identified as the Dunvegan model, designed by Tom Robertson for A.H. McIntosh and Co Ltd of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, circa 1960s. The piece is constructed with teak veneers and solid teak elements. The front configuration comprises a bank of three drawers to the left-hand side and a three-door cupboard arrangement, featuring a central double cupboard and a single cupboard to the right. The design is characterised by integrated, sculpted wooden wave handles and the unit is supported by four tapered legs. The top surface is flat with a well-matched teak grain. The interior of the uppermost drawer is lined with red felt and contains wooden cutlery dividers. A metal manufacturer’s label is present on the interior of a drawer, bearing the red Mc logo and the inscription A.H. MCINTOSH and CO LTD KIRKCALDY SCOTLAND.
