A George II Style Mahogany Fret-Cut Wall Mirror by The Bombay Company
Description
A George II style wall mirror by The Bombay Company, featuring a rectangular mahogany-stained frame with fret-cut scrolling decoration to the pediment and apron. The design is a 20th-century reproduction of a mid-18th-century Chippendale style. The top pediment is centred by a carved and gilded spread-wing eagle finial within a circular aperture. The mirror plate is bordered by a gilded inner slip with moulded detail. A small white inventory sticker marked 9702 is located on the left side of the frame.
