Description

A late 19th or early 20th-century wall clock in the Vienna regulator style, attributed to the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC/HAU). The case is constructed from stained wood, likely walnut or mahogany, featuring an architectural design with a scrolled top pediment and egg-and-dart style moulded borders. The glazed door is framed by decorative elements including four raised pyramidal corner blocks, and the lower portion of the case is finished with two turned wooden finials. The dial consists of a cream-coloured chapter ring featuring black Roman numerals and red foliate flourishes between the hours, surrounding a recessed brass centre. It contains two winding apertures located at the 4 and 8 o’clock positions and ornate black metal hands in a fleur-de-lis style. The mechanical twin-train movement is spring-driven and includes a large circular brass pendulum bob visible through the lower glazed panel. A small white adhesive label with the number 9627 is present on the side of the case, likely an internal reference or previous lot number.
