French 1st Empire Style Cuirassier Officer's Helmet Replica
Description
A modern replica of a French heavy cavalry officer’s helmet, produced in the style of the First Empire Cuirassiers. The helmet is constructed with a polished brass skull and a tall brass crest. The crest features embossed classical palmettes and a Medusa head at the front. A black fur-covered turban is fitted around the base of the shell. Decorative elements include a long black horsehair tail attached to the rear of the crest, a red horsehair brush known as a marmouset in a brass holder at the front, and a red feather plume on the left side. The chin straps consist of interlocking brass scales on a dark backing, secured to the skull with circular bosses featuring a floral motif. The interior contains a dark lining and a white adhesive label marked 103.
