A Sadler Art Deco Yellow Racing Car Teapot
Description
This is a mid-20th-century novelty teapot manufactured by James Sadler and Sons Ltd, modelled as a streamlined racing car in the Art Deco style. The earthenware body is finished in a yellow glaze with silver lustre highlights applied to the bumpers, wheel hubs, and the lid handle. The spout is positioned at the front of the car, and the handle is integrated into the rear bodywork. The base is impressed with the marks MADE IN ENGLAND and REGISTERED NO 820236, which refers to a design registered circa 1937. A hand-painted black mark resembling the Greek letter phi is also present on the underside. This specific model is identified as the OKT42 racing car.
