Description
This item is an offset lithograph print of a pin-up illustration by the artist Alberto Vargas, originally published in the May 1971 issue of Playboy magazine. The artwork depicts a nude female figure with brown hair, wearing a decorative black and silver patterned cape and white high-heeled shoes. The subject is shown in a dynamic pose, holding a glass of red wine in her right hand. The print features the vertically oriented text VARGAS GIRL on the left side and a printed cursive signature Vargas to the right of the figure. A printed caption in the upper centre reads: Male supremacy is all right – but I favor a different position. The print is housed in a dark wood frame with a gilded inner border.
