Naga Style Multi-Strand Red Seed Bead Necklace with Carved Spacers
Description
This ethnic multi-strand necklace comprises numerous tiers of vibrant red seed beads, which appear to be glass or possibly coral, arranged in a traditional tiered formation. The strands are gathered through two cylindrical spacers crafted from a cream-coloured material, likely carved bone or shell, each decorated with etched geometric patterns and celestial star motifs. The piece is strung on red textile cord, which terminates in a loop and single-bead toggle closure. No metal components, hallmarks, or maker’s marks are visible. The design is characteristic of Naga or Himalayan tribal jewellery. Weight and dimensions are not recorded as no scale was present during inspection.
Condition report:
The necklace is in good vintage condition. There is minor fraying and a loose thread visible on the textile cord near one of the carved spacers. The bead strands appear secure and the toggle closure remains functional.
