Gold-tone Metal Graduated Butterscotch Amber Bead Necklace
Description
A vintage graduated bead necklace featuring opaque, butterscotch-coloured beads that appear to be natural Baltic amber. The beads are carved in an ellipsoid and oval form, graduating in size from smaller beads at the clasp to large, prominent oval beads at the centre. The necklace is secured by a small bolt ring clasp which appears to be a gold-tone metal alloy. This style of ‘egg yolk’ amber is indicative of the Art Deco period. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible. Gross weight: 92 grams.
Condition report:
The piece is in good overall condition. The amber beads appear well-preserved with no significant chips or surface abrasions. The clasp is in working order and the stringing remains intact.
