A Chinese Export Rose Medallion Porcelain Punch Bowl and a Pair of Famille Rose Square-Section Vases
Description
A collection of Chinese export porcelain comprising a large punch bowl and a pair of decorative vases. The punch bowl is decorated in the traditional Rose Medallion palette with polychrome enamels. The decoration consists of alternating panels depicting courtly figures in architectural settings and naturalistic motifs of birds amongst flowers and fruits, all arranged around a central floral medallion and finished with gilt accents. The accompanying pair of square-section vases is decorated with hand-painted panels of birds perched on flowering branches, framed by cobalt blue borders enriched with gilt floral scrollwork. Each piece features an unglazed footring characteristic of this production style. One vase retains a small numbered adhesive inventory tag to the shoulder. Bowl diameter: approximately 30 cm (12 inches). Vases height: approximately 24 cm.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or restorations to any of the pieces. Minor surface wear and light rubbing to the gilding and enamel decoration are present, consistent with age and handling.
