Description

A collection of brassware comprising a large tea kettle and a pair of figural candlesticks. The kettle is of traditional 19th to early 20th-century design, featuring a bulbous spun brass body with a swan-neck spout and a wide overhead swing handle with a cylindrical grip. The lid is finished with a tiered finial. No manufacturer marks are visible, though an adhesive inventory tag numbered 9311 is present on the body. The accompanying pair of cast brass candlesticks are in the Victorian revival style, each featuring a stem modelled as a robed figure standing upon a tiered square base. Kettle height 31cm, Candlestick height 17cm.

Condition report:

The items exhibit a polished finish with areas of natural patination. The kettle shows a notable dent at the tip of the spout and general surface scuffs and light scratches consistent with age and use. There are small spots of oxidation and pitting to the body. The candlesticks show natural darkening in the recessed details of the casting and significant green verdigris oxidation within the candle cups. No structural repairs or major damage noted.
