Unmarked, Decorative Ceramic Carpet Bowls and Glass Marbles in Wooden Tray, Chinoiserie Style, Late 20th Century
Description
A curated assortment of decorative spheres comprising seven ceramic carpet bowls and five glass marbles, presented within a rectangular wooden display tray. The ceramic items are crafted from porcelain with a classic blue and white glaze. Patterns include horizontal banding, concentric rings, a repeating floral sprig motif, and a traditional Chinoiserie foliate design. The glass components include a large marble with red and light blue swirls, a solid cobalt blue sphere, a clear glass sphere, and smaller marbles with iridescent and swirled black and white patterns. The wooden tray features mitred corners and a natural finish. These items are reminiscent of traditional Victorian indoor bowling games but are styled for contemporary decorative use. Tray measures approximately 30cm x 15cm; largest ceramic sphere approximately 8cm in diameter.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. The ceramic spheres exhibit minor surface abrasions and typical firing variations consistent with the manufacturing process. The glass marbles show light surface wear. The wooden tray displays moderate scuffing and surface marks consistent with age and use. No chips or cracks are evident on the ceramic pieces.
