A House Parts, Inc. Composite Sculpture of Saint Francis of Assisi
Description
Produced by House Parts, Inc. of Atlanta and manufactured in China, this contemporary decorative sculpture is cast in a composite material with a weathered lead finish. The piece depicts Saint Francis of Assisi in a traditional pose, featuring a tonsure and wearing a hooded monk’s habit secured by a knotted rope cincture, accompanied by a bird perched on a woven basket at his feet. The sculpture is finished with a cool grey, matte patina designed to mimic aged metal. It is set on an integral, rustically carved base. The underside of the base retains the original manufacturer’s labels, including a barcode label identifying the finish as Weathered Lead and a secondary House Parts, Inc. brand label. 22 x 8 x 7 inches.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in good condition. The distressed surface and variations in the grey patina are intentional aesthetic choices by the manufacturer. The base and integral components are structurally sound with no evidence of repairs or significant chips. The original labels are intact on the underside.
