Late 20th Century Stained Wood and Cast Metal Garden Bench
Description
A late 20th-century traditional slatted garden bench of park bench form. The piece features two heavy-duty cast metal side frames, finished in a dark charcoal grey, exhibiting ornate scrollwork and central floral motifs to the armrests and legs. The seat and backrest are constructed from contoured horizontal wooden slats, finished with a dark brown stain and secured to the frame with recessed bolts. No upholstery. Approximately 79cm H x 126cm W x 60cm D.
Condition report:
The bench is in fair to good used condition, showing signs of outdoor exposure and age. The wooden slats exhibit weathering, surface scuffs, and areas of thinned finish, with some visible green lichen or moss growth on the lower back slats. The metal frame remains intact with minor surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. The structure appears stable and fit for purpose.
