Waite & Son Ltd Art Deco Style Ceramic Table Lamp with Hand-Painted Geometric Motif
Description
An Art Deco style ceramic table lamp produced by Waite & Son Ltd of Mitcham, Surrey. The globular earthenware base features a cream glaze, decorated with a hand-painted geometric design consisting of interlocking blue circles and silver-toned wavy lines. The lamp is topped with a tapered parchment-effect shade, finished with a decorative braided trim to the edges. The underside of the base bears the manufacturer stamp HAND PAINTED for Waite & Son Ltd, Mitcham, Surrey, alongside handwritten numerals 4254. The piece is fitted with a UK 3-pin plug and vintage wiring. Dimensions: Base diameter approximately 15 cm, total height approximately 32 cm.
Condition report:
The ceramic base exhibits significant all-over crazing and some minor surface staining. The parchment-effect shade shows age-related discolouration and spotting.
