Description

A French Provincial revival-style cheval mirror of elegant proportions. The piece features an oval mirror plate set within a cream-painted frame, embellished with ornate gilt-accented moulded scrolled detailing and a beaded border. The mirror is mounted on two vertical supports allowing for a tilting adjustment. The structure is integrated into a rectangular base stand containing a single drawer with matching gilt trim and a small knob pull. The entire unit is raised on four short cabriole-style legs. While no manufacturer marks are present, the design reflects the mid-20th-century interest in Louis XVI and neoclassical aesthetics. Dimensions: Approximately 150cm height x 50cm width x 40cm depth.

Condition report:

The item is presented in good overall condition. The mirror plate is intact with no significant foxing or damage. The painted finish and gilt accents show minor surface wear, light scuffs, and small chips consistent with domestic use and age. The tilting mechanism and drawer are fully functional.
