Three Ceramic Storage Containers including Two Sadler Treacle Glaze Canisters
Description
A collection of three ceramic storage containers. The lot includes two figural canisters attributed to Sadler, England, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The first canister is molded as a seated figure wearing a conical hat, finished in a glossy amber-brown (often referred to as treacle) glaze, with the word SUGAR impressed on the front base. The second canister is molded as a seated figure wearing a sombrero, finished in a textured dark brown glaze, with the word COFFEE impressed on the front base. Both Sadler canisters are lidded storage jars. The third item is a white ceramic lidded dish molded in the form of a turkey or hen resting on a basket-weave base.
