A Collection of 77 Vintage Sewing, Tailoring, and Craft Implements (Junk Drawer Lot)
Description
A large miscellaneous collection of 77 items, commonly referred to in the market as a “junk drawer lot,” comprising vintage sewing, tailoring, and small craft implements. The collection includes 14 mixed thimbles made of brass, silver-toned metal, and plastic in red and amber hues. Also present are two large wooden handles or bobbins, one tortoiseshell-patterned paddle tool, and a bulk quantity of approximately 62 small metal instruments, including probes, files, tweezers, hooks, awls, and small scissors. Materials observed include steel, brass, wood, plastic, and bone or ivory substitute. Visible markings on some tools include SHRIMPTONS ECLIPSE and PATENT 5091/11. The entire collection is presented in a modern, rectangular, reddish-pink plastic tray marked MADE IN CHINA and labeled 6182.
