A Collection of 13 Wade Porcelain and Wade-Style Novelty Ceramic Wares
Description
The collection consists of 13 pieces of glazed ceramic novelty wares, primarily attributed to Wade Porcelain based on visible packaging. The lot includes four Puppy Dishes, three of which are set within basket-weave style dishes, and one of which is presented in its original cardboard box marked GENUINE WADE PORCELAIN and PUPPY DISH No 3, Made in England. The collection also features two olive green floral flower bricks or dishes, a figural turtle ashtray or dish with a small blue cup insert, and a figural bird ashtray or dish with a tan oval base. Additional pieces include a small glazed gnome-like figurine, a blue fish dish, a pink seal dish, and a green circular commemorative dish. The commemorative dish features raised text including BRITISH EMPIRE, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, and an ER monogram, decorated with various Commonwealth animals. The pieces exhibit a variety of glossy glazes, characteristic of mid-20th century British pottery.
