A Two-Panel Art Nouveau Folding Screen
Description
A single two-panel folding screen (paravent) constructed of dark-stained wood, consistent with the Art Nouveau style and dating to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. The screen features an arched top rail on both panels. The frame is infilled with a pale pink or salmon-colored fabric. The fabric in the main panel is arranged in horizontal bands, while the fabric in the partially visible second panel is arranged in diagonal bands. The bottom of the main panel features an open decorative apron supported by short balusters. Two auction stickers are affixed to the top rail, reading 6782 and Ewelyn Auctioneers Ltd. lot 49.
