Description

Victorian Era Silver Plated Ware comprising numerous small, predominantly silver-toned metal objects. The collection includes a small black book or case with metal edges, a figural silver-toned finial or handle with an ivory or bone grip, a crown-shaped bottle opener featuring a shield motif, and an ornate, possibly rococo-style, rectangular box, potentially a snuff box or vesta case. There is a fitted black case with a purple velvet interior containing two pairs of ornate scissors, one with twisted handles, alongside a small, ribbed silver-toned pot with a hinged lid and handle, likely a mustard pot. A collection of folding knives or razors are present, some with plain silver-toned handles, others with ornate light-colored (possibly ivory or bone) handles featuring decorative inlay. A small fork with a floral handle, a pointed letter opener or pick, and two pairs of ornate nutcrackers or similar tools are also visible, with the latter featuring text that appears to read “MS METTICH” on their handles. Another pair of small, ornate-handled scissors is also present. The items exhibit a generally antique or vintage aesthetic, consistent with the late 19th to early 20th century.
