Description
A mid 21st century gilt metal Rococo-revival battery powered mantel clock. The ornate clock features a dynamic figural finial depicting a mounted warrior with a spear, flanked by two birds. The central clock dial displays Roman numerals on cartouches against an ornate background and is visibly marked “QUARTZ”. The clock case is intricately decorated with rich scrollwork, foliage, and a grotesque mask situated below the dial. The substantial base incorporates two stylized fish or dolphin figures, supporting a textured central panel and resting on four scrolled feet. A white inventory sticker bearing the number “3987” is present on the lower front.
