Lot 185:
A Collection of Seven East Asian Export Glazed Porcelain Bowls and a Dish
Description
This lot comprises a varied collection of seven ceramic vessels, including six bowls of differing sizes and one larger, shallow dish, all crafted from glazed porcelain. The decorative styles are diverse, predominantly reflecting East Asian export-ware influences through polychrome enamel and underglaze blue decoration. The larger dish features a scalloped rim and a central floral medallion in pink, purple, and green, surrounded by floral sprays. The individual bowls include examples with intricate blue underglaze scrollwork and iron-red overglaze accents, a fluted-rim bowl with vertical blue lines and green foliage, a ‘famille rose’ style bowl profusely decorated with a complex scene and cellular patterns, a plain white bowl, one with a prominent pink peony and green leaves, and another adorned with an iron-red and underglaze blue landscape featuring architectural elements. No visible text or maker’s marks are discernible.
