Description
A Worcester ‘Gillyflower’ fluted cup and saucer, dating from circa 1770-1780. The set comprises a white ceramic (likely porcelain) cup and a matching saucer, both adorned with blue underglaze floral decoration. The saucer features a central large gillyflower-type motif, with similar blossoms decorating the cup. Both pieces exhibit a fluted body and scalloped rims, each outlined in blue. The cup is fitted with a simple C-scroll handle. Both the cup and saucer bear a small blue crescent mark on their undersides.
