Worcester Sparrow Beak Cream Jug, Circa 1780
Description
A Worcester Sparrow Beak Cream Jug, circa 1780. This small, white glazed porcelain or fine ceramic pitcher features a rounded body, simple C-scroll handle, and prominent spout. The exterior is adorned with polychrome hand-painted floral motifs, including a large magenta rose, flanked by smaller orange, purple, and teal blossoms and foliage. The scalloped rim is decorated with an intricate blue and white border featuring a repeating dotted pattern, accented by a thin gold line. The undecorated base shows no visible manufacturer’s marks or text.
