A First Period Worcester Mansfield Pattern Teabowl and Saucer, c1770
Description
A First Period Worcester Mansfield Pattern Teabowl and Saucer, dating to circa 1770. This lot consists of two pieces of white ceramic, likely porcelain, tableware. The scalloped-rimmed dish/plate and the small footed bowl are decorated with underglaze blue hand-painted designs in an Asian-inspired or Chinoiserie style. The decoration features flowering plants, foliage, and a bird on the plate, with complementary border patterns. The underside of the plate displays a blue capital ‘C’ mark and two circular white labels. The bowl’s underside has a blue stylized arrow-like mark and one circular white label.
