A Royal Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau Vase
Description
A Royal Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau vase, of glazed ceramic construction. The cylindrical body with a flared rim and bulbous base displays mottled green, blue, brown, and ochre glazes. It is overlaid with applied or molded gilt-colored scrolling ornamentation reminiscent of rococo style. Two prominent roundels, bordered with raised dots, depict stylized blue and white floral motifs—one appearing as a bellflower at the upper section and a basket of flowers at the lower section. The base bears an impressed or printed circular mark reading “ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND” with a crown and stylized animal motif, along with the impressed numbers “6699” and other faint impressed or handwritten marks such as “Sh”. An auction inventory sticker “SLL 1178” is also present.
