Description

A Worcester porcelain teabowl and saucer, hand-decorated in the ‘Two Quail’ pattern. The decoration features two birds perched amidst foliage, with an additional bird in flight on the teabowl and a solitary insect on the saucer, all executed in underglaze blue and iron-red/orange enamels. Both pieces are finished with a delicate blue-dotted rim. A blue crescent mark is present on the base of both the teabowl and the saucer. A visible tag attached to the set identifies them as “WORCESTER Porcelain teabowl & saucer decorated in the Two Quail pattern (c.1775-90)”.
