Burmantofts Faience 'Sunburst' Bottle Vase, Oxblood Glaze, England, circa 1890
Description
A Burmantofts Faience ‘Sunburst’ bottle vase. This tall ceramic vessel features a globular body, a long slender neck, and a single ear-shaped handle attached at the shoulder. It is finished with a glossy reddish-pink or coral (oxblood) glaze and decorated with evenly spaced, raised, stylized sunburst motifs across its main body. The base is clearly marked with a stylized ‘BF’ monogram above the impressed text ‘ENGLAND’ and the number ‘402’.
