Lot 368:
A Pair of Silver Pillboxes, one British Hallmarked, the other of Eastern Style
Description
A pair of circular silver pillboxes. The first is a cylindrical box crafted from British sterling silver, bearing hallmarks for the maker “T&S”, the lion passant, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter “O” for 1913. Its lid features a polished, mottled deep blue stone, likely lapis lazuli, accented by a small red cabochon. The second item is a domed circular silver box extensively decorated with intricate repoussé or chased floral and geometric patterns, indicative of an ethnic or traditional Eastern style; its base bears a single faint, circular mark. Both items are confirmed to be Silver.
