A Pair of Early 20th Century Silver Book-Form picture frames
Description
A pair of early 20th century silver book-form picture frames , each featuring a silver frame surrounding an inset panel. One panel is of a textured red material, and the other of a textured green material, possibly textile or fine leatherette. Visible hallmarks on the lower edge of each frame include the maker’s mark “CPR,” an anchor symbol indicating the Birmingham Assay Office, a lion passant for sterling silver standard, and a date letter appearing as a lower-case ‘c’ or ‘g’, suggesting a date of 1902 or 1906.
