An Ornate Silver Miniature Frame with Foliate and Beast-Head Motifs
Description
An ornate undulating oval miniature frame crafted from Silver. The frame is elaborately decorated with repoussé or cast scrolling foliage and stylized beast-head motifs at the apex, where a hinge mechanism is located. It currently contains a blank, aged paper insert. The reverse features a pin and catch mechanism, consistent with a brooch fitting, alongside a small suspension loop at the top. Small, indistinct impressed marks, likely hallmarks, are visible on a metal component on the reverse, accompanied by a faint two-digit numerical marking near one of the hinge pins.
