A Pair of Antique English Georgian Silver Sugar Tongs and a silver Georgian Serving Tong
Description
This lot features a pair of antique silver tongs. The first, a U-shaped sugar tong, is consistent with antique English Georgian examples, bearing four vertically stacked hallmarks on its interior. The second item is a longer, spring-action serving tong, adorned with intricate engraved floral and foliate decoration along its upper arm and a stylized, possibly pinecone-shaped finial at its pivot. This second tong bears a rectangular maker’s mark with the impressed initials ‘CH’. The items are confirmed to be made of Silver. Both items exhibit surface scratches and minor scuffs consistent with age and use, yet appear structurally intact.
